Dr. Yanjie Su is a Professor at the School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, and Vice Dean of Yuanpei College, Peking University, China. She received her B.S. degree in psychology and B.L. degree in sociology at Peking University in 1987, and her Ph.D. degree in biopsychology at Peking University in 1992.
Dr. Su’s research interests focus on evolution and development of mind, particularly the emergence and development of theory of mind, and the relationship between social behavior, social cognition and executive control. Her work has covered behavior and comparative cognition in a variety of species of birds and non-human primates, in addition to human. She has published over 330 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She has been among Elsevier’s annual list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers in Psychology since 2014 till now, and was an awardee of 2016 Wiley-IPCAS Prize for Excellence in Psychological Science.
Dr. Su was a deputy chair of Scientific Committee of the 28th International Congress of Psychology in 2004 and a convener of Invited Symposium at the congress. She is a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission and a deputy chair of China Primate Specialist Group. Dr. Su has been a Member of Standing Committee of Chinese Psychological Society since 2005, and is currently the vice chair of its Developmental Psychology Division and Teaching of Psychology Division. She also serves as the Secretary-General of Beijing Psychological Society, an associate editor of Journal of Psychological Science (in Chinese) and serves on editorial boards of several local psychology journals.
